Craft Orchard is a small, family owned and operated orchard and farm. We believe we have a beautiful place and we want to share our space and it's bounty. There are apple trees , pear trees, concord grapes, cultured red raspberries and wild black raspberries. We also grow asparagus for spring sales. We have "low residue" fruits and vegetables - meaning we try to be as organic as possible. Ask Dave, the orchard guy, what sprays he uses, when and why. Our regular customers, friends and family are pleased with the quality and flavor of our apples and asparagus.
Remember, our apples might not be as "pretty" as the ones purchased at the grocery store (you know, the kind that are
heavy with spray and stored for months in warehouses), but they are oh, so wonderfully fresh !
In addition to seasonal produce, we also like to share our place -- 14 acres with fruit trees, vegetables, grasslands,
woods, wildlife and places to play.
You are welcome to picnic at our tables and use the playground, take a walk or just sit and enjoy the day.
Craft Orchard is at the end of the road and is very quiet.
GROUP OUTINGS
We can host your school class for field trips. Dave is a wonderful resource and amateur teacher, willing to share his knowledge of the natural world. Orchard Trolley rides are quite fun and help little (and big) people get around the orchard. If you arrange early, we can provide stories, crafts, refreshments, and maybe even some songs!
Planning a class reunion or other group outing? We can offer the Orchard Trolley for rides, a campfire ring, a party barn, spaces for eating and gathering. Call Pam to arrange your special event.
We also have 2 very nice bedrooms to use for overnight stays - great for game weekends, family overflow or just a pleasant weekend in the country, at the end of the road. Enjoy the rocking chairs on the open front porch, a quiet place to read or talk on the screened back porch, or share a meal on the large, shaded deck. We are just 3 miles from the entrance to Potato Creek State Park, and less than a one-hour drive from Lake Michigan.
